Purpose
This project was my first time using Figma, and was the first project out of three I had to complete in order to attain my UX Design Certificate. As someone who has done taekwondo and mixed martial arts for 12 years, I wanted to create an easy to use app to buy weapons and accessories. I know firsthand how hard it is to find a specific item especially, if it’s from big retailers such as Big 5 Sporting Goods or Dicks Sporting Goods.
Project Overview
-
The problem we are trying to solve is to create an easy and accessible way for people to access martial arts equipment and gear.
-
The goal of the project is to create an easy to use martial arts app that can be utilized throughout the USA, and eventually globally.
-
UX designer designing an app for martial arts students and parents from conception to delivery. Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframes, low and high fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.
Pain Points + Solutions
-
Add Features
We needed to add features to the app in order for it to have good user flow. We added the needed features so the user was not stuck at a dead end.
-
Navigation
The navigation of the app needed to be improved, so we added navigation buttons so the user could move forward and back in the app.
-
Aesthetics
The aesthetics of the app such as text size and placement of information needed to be adjusted, so we added needed information and reduced the text size.
